He wants all people to be saved and to learn the truth. There is one God. There is also one mediator between God and humans—a human, Christ Jesus. He sacrificed himself for all people to free them from their sins. This message is valid for every era.
- Holy Spirit
- Kingdom of God
I’m reading several different books right now in addition to the Bible.
This is a change for me since normally I only read the Bible.
There are so many books out there about Christian living and the Christian faith, and yet I feel the need to lend my voice to the discussion.
We need simplicity.
Since adopting a minimalist lifestyle, I’ve seen the joy and freedom that it brings by liberating us from the chains of materialism, consumerism, pride and selfishness.
The less you have, the more freedom you have.
I prayed that most dangerous prayer:
“Lord God, remove from me everything that gets in the way of my relationship with You. Amen.”
Try it out for yourself and see what happens.
God answered my prayer.
Now, I’m starting over on a firm foundation.
Life is pregnant with meaning and significance.
Everyday is a revelation of God’s hand in the affairs of humans and Creation.
Walk a little slower.
Breathe a little deeper.
Sleep a little longer.
Savor the moments that make up the day.
There’s never been a day like today before and there never will be another one quite like it again.
The same is true for you and me.
We are changing.
We are growing.
We are maturing.
I’m not sure if I have the patience to actually write a book from beginning to end, so I’ll just continue to post on the themes listed above.
I consider them the essentials of the faith.
Some would disagree and focus on man’s sinful nature, the Law, final judgement, etc.
I’m a man of action.
I look at what is my responsibility.
What can and should I be doing?
I consider the first three: worship, evangelism and discipleship the outward, active expressions of my faith.
The next three are the persons of the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
God is truly a mystery and we must meditate, pray, fellowship and commune with Him to better understand God.
We must abide.
This is where we focus our hearts, our thoughts, and our internal lives.
As we better understand the divine nature and expressions of God as exemplified in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we disappear into Christ and live in unity with God.
Finally, we must understand where we are going.
First, the Kingdom of God is the spiritual dimension that is ruled by God.
As we submit and obey, and yield ourselves to be Christ’s agents on this Earth, we advance the Kingdom.
Finally, we are comforted through all trials and affliction with a blessed assurance that our home is in Heaven.
God rewards people according to their deeds.
Instead of collecting treasures on Earth that are temporary, we collect eternal rewards in Heaven based on all the good deeds that we do.
If you examine the life of Jesus and the early Church, you will see the way to live the Christian life.
I believe that we are in the midst of a massive revival and reformation.
Cultural Christianity is dying a slow and painful death as empty religion is being stripped away.
To be a Christian is to have a relationship with God.
That means you communicate and spend time together.
We should be in constant fellowship with the Spirit.
Read the New Testament.
And practice all the principles that it contains.
And live the blessed life of freedom in Christ.
