Living Waters Flow

No fear exists where his love is. Rather, perfect love gets rid of fear, because fear involves punishment. The person who lives in fear doesn’t have perfect love.

1 John 4:18 GW

Blessed are the people who know how to praise you. They walk in the light of your presence, O Lord.

Psalms 89:15 GW

When I worried about many things, your assuring words soothed my soul.

Psalms 94:19 GW

Truth brings freedom and freedom brings joy.

The hope of the nations is found in Jesus Christ.

There is only one true God.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Those who believe the truth have the truth living inside of them.

Your life is a reflection of what you believe.

Your faith is evidenced by your works.

Actions speak louder than words.

Where there are many words spoken, sin abounds.

God is watching us.

He knows what we’re doing.

He knows our motives.

He tests us to try our hearts.

His fire purifies our souls.

We can deceive ourselves.

We cannot deceive God for God is truth and in Him there is no lie.

I would like to encourage you to listen to the things that come out of your mouth.

Are they true?

Are they helpful?

Are they inspiring?

Are they necessary?

Are they kind?

Think before you speak.

A friend shared that acronym with me and I think it’s a good rule of thumb for social engagement.

Too much breath is wasted on complaining, fault finding, gossip and trivia.

If you’re talking about others and not praying for them, even prayers of thanksgiving, why are you talking?

We’re here to build up the Body in love.

I must decrease, so that He can increase.

Speak the truth in love.

Religion wields a rusty sword that tears away the flesh.

Do you trust God?

Do you believe that God is love?

Do you believe we are saved by faith?

Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world?

If so, then you should live like He did.

He didn’t verbally abuse those who verbally abused Him.

He made His Life a sacrifice.

He washed His disciples’ feet.

He became a man of no reputation.

He shed His blood and died for you and me.

He died to set us free.

The closer you get to God, the more obvious it is how far we fall short.

Your walk with God is your walk with God.

We’re not robots.

We have free will.

Use your will to surrender to God.

It’s about submission to authority.

There is one Leader.

There is one Teacher.

There is one Father.

All authority in Heaven and on Earth has been delivered into the hands of Jesus.

Why accept any substitutes?

We have the Scriptures.

We have the Spirit.

What else do you need?

Have enough faith to know that God loves you and He is teaching you what you need to know.

His plan is an individualized learning plan especially crafted just for you.

Every day has lessons.

Every day has tests.

You make progress by learning and passing the test.

If you refuse to learn or fail the test, the lessons will be repeated until you do or perish.

Humility is the beginning of wisdom.

May the Good Lord deal mercifully and patiently with you like He has with me.

And may we do the same with each other.

In God’s love we are perfected.

Pray It Forward

I will do anything you ask ⌊the Father⌋ in my name so that the Father will be given glory because of the Son.

If you ask me to do something, I will do it.

John 14:13‭-‬14 GW

When you pray for things, you don’t get them because you want them for the wrong reason—for your own pleasure.

James 4:3 GW

First of all, I encourage you to make petitions, prayers, intercessions, and prayers of thanks for all people, for rulers, and for everyone who has authority over us.

Pray for these people so that we can have a quiet and peaceful life always lived in a godly and reverent way.

This is good and pleases God our Savior.

He wants all people to be saved and to learn the truth.

1 Timothy 2:1‭-‬4 GW

The Body of Christ is one body with one head.

Jesus Christ is the head of the Church.

Prayer is similar to the nervous system in the human body.

It communicates messages to the central processing unit and receives instructions from headquarters.

For the Body to function in a healthy manner, all the parts have to work together harmoniously.

Selfishness is like a cancer in the body.

It consumes resources unnecessarily and drains the life and energy of the whole.

The Acts 2 Church is the model of a healthy church body.

They did not consider anything as their own and had all things in common.

We are called to worship the Lord in Spirit and in truth.

That means to be filled and flowing in the Spirit and to be aligned with Scriptural truth.

It’s easy to see where there’s room for improvement.

We’ll never get there without prayer.

We need to be praying for the unity and maturity of the Church.

Local churches need to see themselves as smaller parts of the whole and work together.

Some churches are gifted in some areas while others are talented in other ways.

To effectively minister to our communities, we need to lay aside our personal agendas and preferences and earnestly seek the Lord in prayer.

It’s His Body.

He’s the captain.

We need to obey orders.

The Church is made up of individual humans filled with the Spirit of God.

It was never meant to be a bureaucratic organization.

It’s an organic body.

We are the family of believers.

If you’re in a funk or having difficulties in any of your relationships, praying for others is the prescription.

The Bible teaches us to lay aside our anger and to lift up holy hands in prayer.

Remember, trials and tribulations will come.

That’s guaranteed.

If you weren’t tested, how could you have a testimony?

Attitude is everything.

Keep your prayers going upward towards Heaven.

God answers prayers that are aligned with His will.

It’s His will that all people be saved.

Keep praying for salvation and deliverance for all the lost so that they might be found.

Pray for more workers to be sent out into the field to seek and to save the lost.

This is the hour of the great harvest.

The antidote for whatever ails you is more Jesus!

Pray for more disciple making disciples to rise up and invest in the lives of their brothers and sisters in faith.

We’re all in this together.

No one gets out alive.

Make your life count.

Glorify the Lord.

To God be the glory forever and ever.

Bless The Lord

To fear the Lord is to hate evil. I hate pride, arrogance, evil behavior, and twisted speech.

Proverbs 8:13 GW

We love because God loved us first.

Whoever says, “I love God,” but hates another believer is a liar.

People who don’t love other believers, whom they have seen, can’t love God, whom they have not seen.

Christ has given us this commandment: The person who loves God must also love other believers.

1 John 4:19‭-‬21 GW

People can know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and escape the world’s filth. But if they get involved in this filth again and give in to it, they are worse off than they were before.

It would have been better for them never to have known the way of life that God approves of than to know it and turn their backs on the holy life God told them to live.

2 Peter 2:20‭-‬21 GW

What a day that was!

I’m speaking of yesterday.

It was another day of witnessing that age old struggle between faith in Jesus and religious rules.

I still have some religion in me that needs to die so that Christ can fully live in me.

What kills religion?

Religion means a return to bondage.

It’s like having a poisonous snake as a pet.

Sure it may make you look scary and powerful, but it’s not going to cuddle and comfort you at night.

And sooner or later, it’s either going to bite you and kill you like it does all your relationships, or it will just slither away and leave you naked and afraid.

Why do I mention this?

Because yesterday I went to an evangelism equipping service that brought believers from multiple churches together on mission to spread the Gospel…

And there were protesters outside on bullhorns.

Two of them.

I was completely puzzled.

They were preaching about how God hates sinners.

Not exactly a come to Jesus and live message.

We’re trying to bring people into the Kingdom, not exclude them.

They didn’t even know what we were doing in the building, they just felt like no matter what it was, they needed to condemn others.

Honestly, I feel sad for them.

But worse, they seem to be doing a disservice to the Body of Christ.

They’re exactly what we’re trying not to be.

Yet, I suppose we should consider ourselves greatly blessed to be persecuted for our faith and service to God.

We left after the first session because we had another engagement that afternoon.

I can’t even describe what an unexpected blessing that turned out to be.

And honestly, I don’t even feel like I should share about it.

God knows what happened.

Lives were changed.

Hearts were touched.

God was greatly praised.

I was just glad to be along for the ride.

God is in control.

He’s doing amazing things in this hour.

Hold on and enjoy the ride!

May the Lord bless you today and everyday.

And may you be a blessing to Him and your neighbor.

May the love of Christ transform your heart into one just like His.

In Jesus’ Name I pray.
