The Table of The Lord

Like the ground that brings forth its crops and like a garden that makes the seed in it grow, so the Almighty Lord will make righteousness and praise spring up in front of all nations.

Isaiah 61:11 GW

If you live in me and what I say lives in you, then ask for anything you want, and it will be yours.

You give glory to my Father when you produce a lot of fruit and therefore show that you are my disciples.

John 15:7‭-‬8 GW

It is God who produces in you the desires and actions that please him.

Philippians 2:13 GW

There is so much fruit on the vine, that the branches are breaking.

It is the fruit of righteousness.

Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all its righteousness.

Then all those earthly things that you need will be given unto you.

If you seek first what you think you need, instead of trusting God, you’ll miss out on what God wants to give you.

God is our provider.

What is truly eternal?

What is worth seeking?

In the presence of our Lord is the fullness of joy.

The joy of the Lord is our strength.

Our strength is found in God’s presence.

For when we are weak, He is strong.

Lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.

I’ve found that nothing in this world makes sense except for Jesus.

And the more time you spend with Jesus, the more this world reveals itself to be a tragedy of misguided efforts.

Wait for God.

Don’t rush ahead.

Don’t lag behind.

Walk with Him, step by step, in the cool of the day, just as originally intended.

Sin separates us from God.

There is no sin in God’s presence.

We must abide in God’s presence to bear spiritual fruit.

So really, what is our whole Christian life supposed to be?

Simply abiding in Him.

All the rules, commandments, precepts and wisdom point to one thing.

Be one with Him.

And you can’t do it by any effort of your own.

You have to surrender.

You have to be broken and crushed.

There is nothing good in me, that is in my flesh nature.

Nothing.

There is nothing to boast in.

There is nothing to be proud of.

There is nothing that can save me.

The only good in me, is when I’m broken and the Glory of the Lord is revealed.

Just as Christ’s body was broken and crushed because of our sins so that God’s resurrection life could be revealed, so it is with us.

Humility does not come naturally.

The flesh wants to be prideful.

But that trap of pride will kill you.

God is the only good there is.

As we lay down our lives, we are raised up again in His life.

I have no plan.

I have no agenda.

I’m not even sure what I want.

I just want Him.

Forever.

Amen.

He prepares a table for us in the presence of our enemies.

All are invited.

Yet, so many refuse the invitation.

They are distracted by the things of this world.

My bride, my car, my job.

I gave them all away.

The adulterers, thieves and liars played their parts.

You can’t steal from me if I give it away.

Forgive them, Lord.

For they knew not what they were doing.

They were under the influence of the evil one.

The curse has become a blessing.

I am free.

Free to be His.

Come to the table.

Eat.

Drink.

Taste and see that the Lord is good.

He purchased our freedom with His blood.

He ensured our inheritance by grafting us into His Body.

He has made peace for us with God.

Christ Jesus is the Savior of the world.

He wants to dine and sup with us.

He wants to live inside of us.

We are the children of God.

The Father is good to us.

All thanks to our older brother, our friend, the Lord Jesus Christ.

May God reveal His Glory to you.

Amen.

  1. We were created in God’s image, but we try to morph God to conform to our images. As we surrender to God’s will and seek to become one with Christ, His Glory will be revealed to us. Just as the veil was torn at the point of Christ’s death, the true Glory revealed will bring a total transformation, like nothing we have ever experienced before.

    1. Glory belongs to God, whose power is at work in us. By this power he can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. Ephesians 3:20 GW
