Becoming Christian

Join me in suffering like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 2:3 GW

Endure until your testing is over. Then you will be mature and complete, and you won’t need anything.

James 1:4 GW

All the believers kept meeting together, and they shared everything with each other.

Acts 2:44 GW

Forgive me in advance if this word cuts too deep; I’ll try to be gentle and build you up in love.

I’m the guy who says what needs to be said.

I’m not here to win friends and influence people.

I’m here to win souls and honor God.

What will define the end time revival?

People actually becoming Christians.

You can’t have unity without maturity.

You can’t have maturity without humility.

You can’t have humility without enduring suffering.

Christians by definition are people who have Christ-like character.

Those who believe in Jesus must live as He lived.

They must live in total submission and willful obedience to their Heavenly Father.

They yield to the leading of the Spirit.

Believers in Jesus don’t immediately become Christians when they first confess their faith.

That’s when they get born again of the Spirit of God.

Does a new born baby have the maturity and strength of a grown man?

No.

They act like babies.

They need lots of attention and daily care.

Spiritual maturity takes time, experience, suffering and endurance.

You will suffer for Christ.

Most evangelists won’t tell you that upfront.

But I’m not like most evangelists.

I’m not interested in numbers.

I’m interested in developing depth of character.

I’m interested in making disciples.

It took 3 years of almost constant instruction from the Son of God to create the first disciples.

They had the best Teacher the world has ever known.

And now, through the Holy Spirit, we each also have a personal tutor in living a godly life.

If only we would listen.

That’s why we still need our brothers and sisters in Christ to help shepherd us into the fullness of Christ.

What are believers?

We are servants.

We serve the greater good.

The greatest among you will be a servant to all.

Our lives are living sacrifices.

I’m not here to boast about myself.

Anyone who boasts must boast in what the Lord has done.

I boast in my weaknesses, because when I am weak, He is strong.

I’m a believer.

I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

I’ll let someone else accuse me of being a Christian.

Honestly, I have no idea what I’m doing.

But I’m stepping out in faith and trusting that God will take care of everything.

What’s the worst thing that could happen?

I could physically die and then go home and be with the Lord in Heaven for eternity.

That doesn’t really seem to have much downside.

After all, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

There are spiritually dead people walking all around us.

Someone needs to wake them up to the Truth.

Someone needs to be sharing the Gospel with the lost.

They say don’t become a preacher unless you have to.

Why?

Because you have to sacrifice your selfish will everyday in order to do God’s will.

Everyday I’m seeking the Lord.

Lord, what do You have for me this day?

Believe.

Believe that I’m making all things work out for good for those who love Me and are called according to My purpose.

Believe that your destiny is hidden in Christ.

No one has seen God.

But we believe in God.

That’s why it’s called faith.

Can you see Christ?

No, the anointing is invisible.

But the effects of the anointing are plainly evidenced.

These signs will follow believers…

If healings, deliverance, miracles, signs and wonders aren’t following you around, then perhaps you’re not walking in Christ.

The Gospel is so simple you need someone else to help you misunderstand it.

What are all these denominations out there all about?

Each denomination represents someone who failed to be a peacemaker.

Division is from the enemy.

Men who long for glory, power and authority without being submitted to God have fractured the Church.

There is only one Church of the Living God.

And the Church isn’t a building.

We are temples of the Holy Spirit.

We carry the Good News inside of us.

Everywhere we go is an opportunity to have a church meeting.

My quest is to become Christian.

I want to be exactly like my Savior in regards to love.

We are called to show no partiality.

The sin of partiality is to treat different people differently.

It’s called discrimination and even the laws of man recognize that it’s an offense.

We’re supposed to treat everyone the same way.

We’re supposed to love everyone with God’s self-sacrificing love.

Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

In this way you’ll show that you are children of God.

Jesus didn’t die for just those who loved Him.

He died for all.

He is the Savior of everyone, especially of those who believe.

We need to be reminding people that they have a Savior.

Not everyone will choose to believe it.

But everyone needs to be told.

And then the end will come.

The great and terrible Day of the Lord is fast approaching.

It’ll be great for believers.

It’ll be terrible for those who reject Jesus Christ as Messiah.

Judgment is coming.

Are you ready?

What condition is your soul in?

We only have so many breaths to breathe in this life and then it’s over.

What are you wasting your breath on?

Our mouths were created to give praise to God.

Lord, I pray that You wake us all up to the revelation of who You are.

Set our hearts aflame with passion for Your Name.

Let us be Your children who resemble the God who calls us each by name.

In Jesus’ Name I pray.

Amen and amen.
