Fan Into Flame

The Jews began to persecute Jesus because he kept healing people on the day of worship.

Jesus replied to them, “My Father is working right now, and so am I.”

John 5:16‭-‬17 GW

John said to Jesus, “Teacher, we saw someone forcing demons out of a person by using the power and authority of your name. We tried to stop him because he was not one of us.”

Jesus said, “Don’t stop him! No one who works a miracle in my name can turn around and speak evil of me. Whoever isn’t against us is for us. I can guarantee this truth: Whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward.”

Mark 9:38‭-‬41 GW

Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee on his way to Jerusalem. As he went into a village, ten men with a skin disease met him. They stood at a distance and shouted, “Jesus, Teacher, have mercy on us!”

When he saw them, he told them, “Show yourselves to the priests.”

As they went, they were made clean. When one of them saw that he was healed, he turned back and praised God in a loud voice. He quickly bowed at Jesus’ feet and thanked him. (The man was a Samaritan.)

Jesus asked, “Weren’t ten men made clean? Where are the other nine? Only this foreigner came back to praise God.”

Jesus told the man, “Get up, and go home! Your faith has made you well.”

Luke 17:11‭-‬19 GW

God is our healer.

Jesus gives us the opportunity to heal people by using the power and authority of His name.

We can cast demons out of people in the same manner.

All it takes is faith, willingness, and the breath to speak His Word.

God’s word cannot return to Him void.

We have the Spirit of Truth living inside of us.

Anything that we ask for in His name, He will give us.

And before you get all materialistic and selfish and start asking for stuff, remember that we’re here to accomplish God’s will, not our own.

Pray for one another so that you may be healed.

God is a loving community.

Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Humans are made in the image and likeness of God.

We have a body, soul and spirit.

Similarly, God has a physical body.

His Name is Jesus.

God has a mind, will and emotions.

We call that Our Heavenly Father.

God has a spirit.

The Holy Spirit.

Jesus and the Father are One.

That means they have the same essence.

Jesus only said and did what the Father told Him to say and do.

Similarly, we are to be one with Christ.

We should only say and do what God’s Holy Spirit moves us to say and do.

If we act in the flesh instead of the Spirit, we are sinning.

We are falling short of the glory of God.

It’s God living in us that gives us the power to overcome our carnal nature.

Trying to obey all of God’s commandments in our own strength is called religion.

And religion leads to death.

God desires to have continuous fellowship and communion with us.

When we sin, when we do something contrary to God’s divine nature, we sever that relationship.

That’s where we need to repent and return to following God.

We’re all born into sin.

We’re all born not knowing Jesus.

There’s nothing more important in this life or the next than knowing Jesus.

That doesn’t mean knowing about Jesus or knowing all about Scripture.

Those things are helpful, but they won’t save your soul.

Only knowing Jesus will save you.

We’re talking knowing in the Biblical sense.

To be one and the same.

To have the same essence.

Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

It’s a difficult road to walk, but it’s the only path to eternal life.

Those who endure until the end will be saved.

Christianity is about cultivating your relationship with God.

How do you do that?

You talk to God.

And then you listen.

You spend time with God.

The more you do it, the easier it becomes.

Do you have troubles?

Then pray.

Are you rejoicing?

Then sing and praise God.

Do you want to be healed?

Then praise and worship God in spite of your circumstances.

Revival won’t come by sitting in a church meeting.

Revival comes when we get off our butts and go carry the Gospel to where it’s needed.

God didn’t save you so that you can sit around basking in your eternal security while waiting for death so as to be freed from this world of sin.

No.

He saved you so that you can go and do what He commanded us to do.

Spread the Good News.

Heal the sick.

Cast out demons.

Win souls.

Make disciples.

The Church has been asleep at the switch for too long.

We need to evangelize the Church again to wake the believers up to their true identity and purpose and set them on fire for God.

Then, they will go out into the world and reach the lost.

Jesus came to seek out and save the lost.

He didn’t come to go to temple and worry about His retirement plan.

We already have the promise of eternal life.

To live is Christ and to die is gain.

May the Lord God give you strength and courage.

May His Presence fill you and surround you.

May His words always be on your tongue.

May His Love always be in your heart.

And may your actions always cause people to praise the mighty Name of Jesus.

To God be the glory forever and ever.

Amen.

Go set your world on fire for Jesus!

And may you be continually molded and made more and more into His likeness and image.

Go be a Christian for Christ’s sake!

Amen.

You make your angels winds and your servants flames of fire.

Psalms 104:4 GW
