Forever Starts Now

God loved the world this way: He gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but to save the world.

John 3:16‭-‬17 GW

If you declare that Jesus is Lord, and believe that God brought him back to life, you will be saved.

Romans 10:9 GW

God saved you through faith as an act of kindness. You had nothing to do with it. Being saved is a gift from God. It’s not the result of anything you’ve done, so no one can brag about it. God has made us what we are. He has created us in Christ Jesus to live lives filled with good works that he has prepared for us to do.

Ephesians 2:8‭-‬10 GW

There are two types of people in this world.

Those who have shelter and those who don’t.

God loves them both.

Therefore, we should share the Good News of Jesus Christ with both.

Their physical needs may be different, but their spiritual needs are the same.

Everyone needs to know their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

That’s where we inherit eternal life from.

Do you want to live forever in Paradise?

I know I do.

And maybe so do you.

But wait!

There’s more!

How’d you like to experience love, peace and joy right where you’re at, in spite of your circumstances?

Me too!

It’s easy.

All you need is a relationship with God.

And, glory to God, He’s provided us with a way to do that.

I have a burning desire to share the Gospel with as many people as possible.

We’re commanded as believers to spread the Good News and make disciples.

Not everyone will choose to accept the free gift of eternal salvation, but everyone has the right to choose.

How can they choose unless someone tells them?

I know not everyone is as on fire for sharing the love of Jesus with everyone as I am.

That’s okay.

Let’s throw some fuel on the fire.

Let’s make it a little easier to confidently share the essentials of the faith.

I have a brother in the Lord who’s going to teach me the basics of door to door evangelism.

He said to get some tracts and also have information about your local church to leave with the people we encounter.

They might not read the tract until after we leave, but you gotta plant those seeds!

There’s thousands of ready made tracts available but I want something that really is fresh and speaks to the people where they’re at.

So I’ve decided to develop three tracts that speak to the specific types of people we’ll give them to.

When I’ve been out doing street evangelism before with some ministry students, I noticed they had a preconceived notion about what they were doing.

They thought, “I have Jesus and you don’t. I need to tell you about Jesus.”

But that’s not always the case.

Many people were believers already.

That’s always refreshing to find.

So I’ve identified the three types of tracts needed as ones for:

  1. New believers
  2. Recommitting life to Christ
  3. Established believer

Something tells me the non-believers will refuse to accept our literature.

But who knows?

Maybe God will surprise us as He is apt to do!

Now, my local church fellowship just got some new contact cards printed up which advertise our new service time and location.

I think that’s great.

I want the tracts to be non-branded so that anyone can use them.

Now comes the challenging part.

I’ve never written a tract before.

Or maybe I have, but never one intended for massive distribution.

So I want to do it right.

That’s where I’m looking for your input.

I’m starting with the New Believer tract and I’m going to title it 4 Steps to Starting Your Relationship with God.

Or something like that.

Let me know what you think in the comments section below.

The four steps I’ve identified are:

  1. Realize your need for a Savior
  2. Ask God for forgiveness
  3. Accept & confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
  4. Invite the Holy Spirit to fill you

I’m sure there’s some Scripture that backs that up somewhere.

The thing is, someone who doesn’t know the Bible isn’t going to immediately accept the authority of Scripture.

They need to be led on a journey of self discovery.

Are you a sinner?

Do you even know what that means?

It means you don’t act and speak like God wants you to all the time.

Only Jesus did that, because He is the Son of God.

In my mind, evangelism is most effective when you’re talking to one person or one family at a time.

You can speak directly to their situation and God can give you prophetic insight that will help them realize that God knows everything about them.

The larger the group you’re speaking to, the more general your message needs to be.

I also want to include some next steps for the new believer.

Here’s what I’ve got so far:

  1. Get water baptised
  2. Start attending a local church fellowship
  3. Read the Bible everyday
  4. Pray everyday
  5. Find a spiritual mentor

What else would you recommend?

Let me know!

I look forward to incorporating your input into the final product.

I’ll be sharing more about the other two tracts in the coming days so be praying for wisdom, revelation and insight on what to include on them.

Each tract will be a one third column of a standard sheet of paper so all three can be printed at the same time.

We hope to be hitting the streets and going door to door in a neighborhood near you shortly!

All this for our King.

Union Gap

Although you have never seen Christ, you love him. You don’t see him now, but you believe in him. You are extremely happy with joy and praise that can hardly be expressed in words as you obtain the salvation that is the goal of your faith.

1 Peter 1:8‭-‬9 GW

But those who drink the water that I will give them will never become thirsty again. In fact, the water I will give them will become in them a spring that gushes up to eternal life.

John 4:14 GW

When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that the Samaritans had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them. Peter and John went to Samaria and prayed that the Samaritans would receive the Holy Spirit. (Before this the Holy Spirit had not come to any of the Samaritans. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit.

Acts 8:14‭-‬17 GW

It’s possible to believe in Jesus without having the Holy Spirit inside of you.

That’s like being in a vehicle with no fuel.

It has the appearance, form and potential to take you places but it simply lacks the power to do so.

The Holy Spirit is the fuel.

Our God is a consuming fire.

When you’re plugged into God, the flow never stops.

Quit idling.

Step on the accelerator.

And let Jesus take the wheel.

How do you do that?

Pray not my will, but Thine be done.

Christ is the head of the Church.

Our job is to humble ourselves, pick up our crosses and die daily.

Die to your flesh.

Die to your selfish ambition.

You’ll never truly live until you die to yourself.

Lose your life.

And find His.

The Church is Christ’s Body.

A body with more than one head is a monster.

It is divided against itself.

Jesus prayed for unity.

Let us be one with Christ as Christ is one with God.

Have you lost your peace?

Has your joy turned up missing?

Where has your love gone?

If you are not united in Spirit with Christ, you will be dried up and unfruitful.

Jesus says, “Follow Me.”

Walk with God.

He will guide you.

And where He guides, He provides.

He has a plan and a purpose for your life.

It’s not your plan.

It doesn’t serve your purposes.

We are counted as sheep led unto slaughter.

God’s plan included Jesus dying for our sins.

He took the punishment we deserve.

His first disciples were martyred.

Without the hope of Heaven, none of this makes sense.

Clearly, there is something greater than what we can see.

God is alive and eternal.

He wishes for us to dwell with Him forever in unity.

That will only happen when we surrender to His will and His way.

There is freedom in surrender.

We no longer have to strive.

We can trust God to complete the good work He began in us.

Take a rest.

God provides the Sabbath for our benefit.

God’s got this.

Praise Him and thank Him for His loving kindness.

There is no end to His mercy.

His love never fails.

He will never leave us or forsake us.

Behold, He is with us until the end of the world.

Save yourselves from this wicked and perverted generation.

Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all its righteousness and all these things will be provided for you.

What are these things?

The things that you need.

Not what you want, lest you spoil yourselves with worldly living.

God has provided us with everything pertaining to life and godliness.

His Spirit will teach you all things.

Let go of your struggles.

And let God carry you.

His will be done.

Be Fruitful & Multiply

A wicked person delights in setting a trap for ⌊other⌋ evil people, but the roots of righteous people produce ⌊fruit⌋.

Proverbs 12:12 GW

“This is what the Lord says: Cursed is the person who trusts humans, who makes flesh and blood his strength and whose heart turns away from the Lord.

He will be like a bush in the wilderness. He will not see when something good comes. He will live in the dry places in the desert, in a salty land where no one can live.

Blessed is the person who trusts the Lord. The Lord will be his confidence.

He will be like a tree that is planted by water. It will send its roots down to a stream. It will not be afraid in the heat of summer. Its leaves will turn green. It will not be anxious during droughts. It will not stop producing fruit.

“The human mind is the most deceitful of all things. It is incurable. No one can understand how deceitful it is.

I, the Lord, search minds and test hearts. I will reward each person for what he has done. I will reward him for the results of his actions.

Jeremiah 17:5‭-‬10 GW

“Certainly the day is coming! It will burn like a furnace. All arrogant people and all evildoers will be ⌊like⌋ straw. The day that is coming will burn them up completely,” says the Lord of Armies. “It won’t leave a single root or branch.

“The Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings for you people who fear my name. You will go out and leap like calves let out of a stall.

You will trample on wicked people, because on the day I act they will be ashes under the soles of your feet,” says the Lord of Armies.

Malachi 4:1‭-‬3 GW

A tree cannot multiply until it has born fruit.

That fruit must be consumed for the seed to be spread.

We are likened unto plants.

Some are wheat and some are weeds.

They grow up together in the field.

And when they mature, when harvest time approaches, you can distinguish them by their fruit.

This walk is a spiritual battle.

It’s a war to stay faithful to the Lord.

There’s many easier roads to walk, but they only end in destruction.

Many are tempted to follow this man’s or that woman’s teachings.

Don’t fall into the celebrity Christian trap.

They’re just as prone to wandering as you are and they have a financial motivation to present a false front.

Celebrity ruins people.

Jesus became a man of no reputation.

His works earned Him a following.

His words got Him crucified by the religious leaders of the day.

He provided us the example to follow.

Love God.

Love people.

Speak the Truth.

Get persecuted for it.

As the end of all things approaches, everything is being revealed.

Our hearts are laid bare before the Lord.

We are naked in the garden.

He knows everything.

It’s a lie of the enemy that we need to cover up.

The opposite is true.

We must be honest with ourselves and with God, otherwise we’re liars.

And all liars are born of Satan.

It’s time to dig up the roots.

Get rid of all the generational curses in your life.

God’s power can break them all, even the ones that endure to the tenth generation.

Jesus paid it all.

The blood of Jesus covers all our sin.

We have the victory.

There’s nothing to be afraid of, not even death.

Our identity is in Christ.

We are the children of God.

Be fruitful and multiply.

Spread the seed of the Gospel.

Let it take root.

Water it with the Word daily.

Then it will grow strong.

In due season, it will bear much fruit.

Abide in the vine, otherwise you will wither and die.

The Lord is our strength.

Not by might, nor by power, but by God’s Spirit will we overcome.

Our God is mighty to save.

Repent and change the way you think and act.

Let love rule the day.
