Jesus said to the Jews, “I can guarantee this truth: The Son cannot do anything on his own. He can do only what he sees the Father doing. Indeed, the Son does exactly what the Father does.
Another person might say, “You have faith, but I do good things.” Show me your faith apart from the good things you do. I will show you my faith by the good things I do.
Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you. Whoever does what God approves of has God’s approval as Christ has God’s approval.
The person who lives a sinful life belongs to the devil, because the devil has been committing sin since the beginning. The reason that the Son of God appeared was to destroy what the devil does.
Are you on the right track?
I certainly hope so.
How do you know if you’re on the right track?
You’re growing in love and truth.
God is love.
Jesus is the truth.
It’s really easy to get off track.
All you have to do is take your eyes off the target.
What is the target?
Measuring up to the stature of the fullness of Christ.
It’s time to get back to basics.
How do professionals become experts?
They practice the basics until they get it down perfectly.
And then they keep practicing.
Now is no time to slack off in practicing your spiritual disciplines.
There’s a war raging in the spiritual dimensions and you need to stand your ground.
Be rooted in love.
I’m sorry, but I don’t care how talented or gifted you are if you don’t walk in love.
Love existed before Creation.
Love will exist when Creation passes away.
What does that tell you?
Love is the key that unlocks the door to the Kingdom of God.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
Love, love, love.
That’s what life is all about.
Anything else is just an illusion.
What is fleeting?
This material world and the lives we live in it.
We must aspire to rise higher.
We will only do that by practicing our most holy faith daily with earnest devotion.
If I slack off in my daily Bible reading and study, my spiritual walk takes a hit.
If I don’t remain steadfast in prayer, my walk really suffers.
If I neglect fellowship, I’m in no-man’s land real soon.
If I’m not praising and worshipping God, my peace and joy fade out.
If I’m not serving others, my problems overwhelm me.
If I’m not meditating on Scripture, I’ll say something stupid.
If I’m not pursuing a deeper relationship with God and abiding in His Presence, I become stagnant and life begins to stink.
The Gospel should motivate everything that we do.
Jesus set us free.
We should want to help others find that freedom in Christ, too.
If we don’t, what does that say about us?
God is more than capable of cleaning up this mess.
We just need to be obedient and do our parts.
Live for God.
You’ll never regret it for a second.
Be blessed in Jesus’ Name.
