A New Creation

A person’s steps are directed by the Lord, and the Lord delights in his way.

Psalms 37:23 GW

O Lord, I know that the way humans act is not under their control. Humans do not direct their steps as they walk.

Jeremiah 10:23 GW

It is God who produces in you the desires and actions that please him.

Philippians 2:13 GW

This year is going to be a lesson in humility.

And the moral of the story is that God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.

I have nothing to prove.

I’m not competing with anyone.

I’m already dead.

I’m a new creation in Christ.

Behold, all things are new.

Today was one of those days where I felt like everything I knew before was absolutely useless.

All the patterns and rhythms of this world are out of tune with God’s intention.

Man is driving the car when we’re just supposed to be passengers.

We’ve been living self-willed lives instead of God’s will lives.

It’s time to pause and reflect.

Where have we gone wrong?

When was the last time we heard from the Lord?

He’s always speaking.

But are we listening?

I’m just like you.

I want to think I know what’s up.

I have no idea what’s next.

But in the meantime, God is pouring out His refining fire to burn out our impurities.

Life is a progressive revelation of who Jesus Christ is.

He is Teacher.

He is Savior.

He is King.

He is Lord.

We’re all at different points in our journey to become the love of God.

Some are going forward, dying to themselves.

Some are going sideways, one foot in the world, one in the Kingdom.

Some are going backwards, abandoning the faith for the cares of this world.

I think somewhere along the line someone sold us a line of bull and we bought the lie.

And once you’re addicted to living a lie, a life of worldly pleasure, you live in denial of God.

The teachings of Christ.

That is where life is found.

God will change your heart if you let Him.

Sin only satisfies for a season and then the sinner becomes bored with their own ways.

That’s good news for those praying for the salvation and deliverance of those that have gone astray.

The mystery of godliness is great.

How does someone become like God?

In regards to love?

How do we possess the mind of Christ?

How does our character mature into the fullness of Christ?

How are we completely filled with God?

I dare say it’s by prayers made in faith that are answered by the Spirit.

We’re nothing without God.

Barren trees blown by the wind.

A cloud with no rain.

Where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord.

The Lord uses His Body.

We are His hands and feet.

We understand what love is when we realize that Christ gave his life for us. That means we must give our lives for other believers. Now, suppose a person has enough to live on and notices another believer in need. How can God’s love be in that person if he doesn’t bother to help the other believer? Dear children, we must show love through actions that are sincere, not through empty words.

1 John 3:16‭-‬18 GW

Do what God’s word says. Don’t merely listen to it, or you will fool yourselves. If someone listens to God’s word but doesn’t do what it says, he is like a person who looks at his face in a mirror, studies his features, goes away, and immediately forgets what he looks like. However, the person who continues to study God’s perfect laws that make people free and who remains committed to them will be blessed. People like that don’t merely listen and forget; they actually do what God’s laws say.

If a person thinks that he is religious but can’t control his tongue, he is fooling himself. That person’s religion is worthless. Pure, unstained religion, according to God our Father, is to take care of orphans and widows when they suffer and to remain uncorrupted by this world.

James 1:22‭-‬27 GW

May His grace fill you with His Spirit.

May we have humble hearts of service.

May His mercy cover all our failures, trespasses and mistakes.

His mercy is new every morning.

This is the day the Lord has made.

I will rejoice and be glad in it.

Jesus save us.

Deliver us from the evil one.

Bring repentance to the hearts of everyone.

May we, as a nation, repent and return to You.

Lord, forgive us.

And heal our land.

In Jesus’ Name I pray.

Amen.
