What will separate us from the love Christ has for us? Can trouble, distress, persecution, hunger, nakedness, danger, or violent death separate us from his love?
As Scripture says:
“We are being killed all day long because of you. We are thought of as sheep to be slaughtered.”
The one who loves us gives us an overwhelming victory in all these difficulties.
I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love which Christ Jesus our Lord shows us. We can’t be separated by death or life, by angels or rulers, by anything in the present or anything in the future, by forces or powers in the world above or in the world below, or by anything else in creation.
I’ve told you this so that my peace will be with you. In the world you’ll have trouble. But cheer up! I have overcome the world.
You are extremely happy about these things, even though you have to suffer different kinds of trouble for a little while now.
The purpose of these troubles is to test your faith as fire tests how genuine gold is. Your faith is more precious than gold, and by passing the test, it gives praise, glory, and honor to God. This will happen when Jesus Christ appears again.
In this world you will have trouble.
It’s not all sunshine and rainbows.
But take heart, God has given us an overwhelming victory.
He gave it to us.
What is that victory?
The love of Christ.
We can overcome and conquer any trouble, obstacle or setback, including death, by abiding in the love of Christ.
Life is found in Christ.
The world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
What is God’s will?
That we make disciples.
That we love God above all other things.
That we love our neighbors as we love ourselves.
That means we obey the Golden rule and do unto others as we would have them do unto us.
Christ is our victory.
The Holy Spirit empowers us to live victoriously to the glory of God.
The world wants you to live in fear.
To be anxious all the time.
Endlessly searching for another product or service to temporarily alleviate that worry or fear.
It’s all about making money off of your suffering, real or imagined.
There’s a better way.
Jesus gives us His peace.
We are accepted in the Beloved.
We are grafted into His Body by faith.
Freely we receive, so freely give.
Share the Good News and the peace it brings.
May His light shine upon you!
And may we be salt and light in this dying world.
In Jesus’ Name I pray.
