Blessed is the person who trusts the Lord. The Lord will be his confidence. He will be like a tree that is planted by water. It will send its roots down to a stream. It will not be afraid in the heat of summer. Its leaves will turn green. It will not be anxious during droughts. It will not stop producing fruit.
The human mind is the most deceitful of all things. It is incurable. No one can understand how deceitful it is.
I, the Lord, search minds and test hearts. I will reward each person for what he has done. I will reward him for the results of his actions.
A harvest that has God’s approval comes from the peace planted by peacemakers.
Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Unless you abide in Him, you can produce no fruit.
As one of my good friends and brothers in the Lord likes to say, “He’s the vine and the vinedresser.”
We’re the branches.
We’re not the fruit either.
That’s just an outworking and manifestation of God’s Spirit.
It’s the result of God working in us and through us.
So really, we’re just containers and conduits.
Read James 3.
I’m always convicted when I read it.
It speaks of the power of the tongue, the words we speak.
As ambassadors for Christ, we should be speaking what the Spirit is speaking.
We should be ministering grace according to the need of the moment.
Jesus Christ is our hope.
He is our salvation.
He is our Redeemer.
We were once lost, but now we’re found in Him.
God’s been really hammering this point home with me lately.
We’re in Him and He is in us.
We want to be completely filled with Him.
We want His love to guide us.
There are two possible motivations for any human activity under the sun.
Love or fear.
Fear means you’re afraid of punishment.
You’re trying to avoid something.
Jesus Christ is our peace.
He has reconciled us back to God.
It is finished.
Now, we no longer live in fear.
Perfect love casts out fear.
Love should motivate and inform all our actions.
And our words.
And even our thoughts.
Think about this: your thought life is up for examination by the Lord.
That’s why we should pray without ceasing.
Always be meditating on the law of the Lord, day and night.
Let His Word and His Spirit completely transform you.
You are, after all, a new creation in Christ.
Unless we know what we’re aiming for, we’ll never get there.
That’s why Ephesians 4:13 is the one verse in the Bible I have memorized and based my life on since getting born again over 20 years ago.
Have we got there yet?
There is much work still left to do.
The end of all things is coming but not nearly as soon as we would like.
So get back in the game of life.
Christ is our confidence.
Our living hope.
Let His life and light shine through you!
I’m just a messenger.
Christ is my King.
Blessings and peace be multiplied to you and through you.
In Jesus’ Name.
