Jesus, who makes people holy, and all those who are made holy have the same Father. That is why Jesus isn’t ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.
So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. In him the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are built together spiritually into a dwelling place for God.
See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
Beloved, we are God’s children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is. And all who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
We need to step up our attacks on the kingdom of darkness.
What does that look like?
Well, we need to storm the gates of hell and rescue all those enslaved in sin.
What’s the practical application?
We love and welcome people into the Body of Christ.
When the world’s going to hell all around us, we need to recognize the opportunities that are abounding.
We need to take every thought captive to the knowledge of God.
The Word of God is our weapon and faith is our shield.
The enemy cannot hurt us unless we give him permission.
How do we give him permission?
By opening the door to sin.
So much of our spiritual warfare is simply abiding in the truth of God and resisting the devil.
Does it feel like attacks are coming fast and furious from every direction?
Well, they probably are.
But remember, God is greater.
And He lives in you.
Hunker down in the presence of God.
Worship the Lord with a loud voice.
Pray in the Spirit.
God is our Father.
Those who endure until the end will be saved.
Don’t give up.
Don’t believe your eyes.
Walk by faith.
God’s promises are faithful.
They will come to pass.
This is a season to sink your roots down in love.
The best way to survive a storm is to huddle together.
Think of it this way: the local church is like your immediate faith family.
Does your local church feel like family?
Do you love and care for each other?
Do you talk and get together throughout the week?
Do you celebrate each other’s successes?
Do you bear one another’s burdens?
If not, why not?
What can you do to change that?
Furthermore, the Church of all believers is your extended family.
Just because you don’t see them as often doesn’t mean you should love them less.
We’re all brothers and sisters in Christ.
And God is love.
Therefore, we’re the family that loves like God loves.
Get that into your spirit.
And live it out faithfully.
The walls of division are coming down.
We need healthy churches to welcome new believers into.
Otherwise, we’re inviting them to supper with a dysfunctional family.
Love covers a multitude of sins.
We may not be perfect, yet.
But with God’s grace, and plenty of love, we’ll become that pure and spotless Bride that Christ is coming back for.
Be encouraged in the Lord.
God cannot fail.
God cannot lie.
Keep hope alive.
