“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes to you. Then you will be my witnesses to testify about me in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.
While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul passed through the interior regions and came to Ephesus, where he found some disciples.
He said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you became believers?”
They replied, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
Then he said, “Into what then were you baptized?”
They answered, “Into John’s baptism.”
Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, in Jesus.”
On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied— altogether there were about twelve of them.
When you’re baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus, you’re baptized into His death, burial, and resurrection.
It is no longer you who lives, but Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Easter is coming.
That’s when we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus.
The same power that rose Jesus from the grave lives in us.
That’s the power of the Holy Spirit.
Some churches are really into the Holy Spirit and power manifestations.
So much so that they fake it.
That’s a great tragedy.
God will surely punish them for their deception.
But we cannot throw the baby out with the bathwater just because there are a bunch of fruit loops out there giving our God a bad reputation.
If there’s no power to raise us from death into eternal life, then what’s the point of being a Christian, or following the Way of Jesus?
I can’t see any.
If Jesus didn’t come back from the dead, our faith is foolishness.
I have a slight advantage over people who were raised in the church system.
My faith is mine.
I didn’t inherit it from others.
I didn’t grow up wondering why people said one thing and did another.
Hypocrisy is not of God.
Just because everyone else is a hypocrite doesn’t make it right.
Nor does it give you permission to be a hypocrite.
We’re all sinners.
That’s no secret.
But we’re commanded to confess our sins so that we may be healed.
Hypocrites hide their sins, at least to their own consciences.
If you want to walk powerfully in the Spirit, you can’t be a hypocrite.
You can’t teach false doctrine.
You can’t live in habitual sin.
Sin severs our fellowship with God.
We can do nothing on our own.
Therefore, if you’re in sin, you lack any power to do God’s will.
I’ve seen it all, short of raising the dead.
But I’ve heard testimonies recently of people being resurrected.
I have friends who have had demons cast out of them.
I’ve healed and been healed.
There is power in the Name of Jesus.
Tap into that power.
Live the resurrected life.
Abide in Christ.
Pray in faith, without doubting.
Faith activates faith.
Don’t let the devil, or the world, or anybody intimidate you.
The Earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.
Everything belongs to God.
All authority in Heaven and on Earth has been given to the Lord Jesus.
When we pray in His Name, we are praying in His authority.
When we pray according to His will, it is done for us.
The best is yet to come.
Strike the match.
Be united with Christ.
And set the whole world on fire with His Love.
In the Name of the Lord Jesus.
