If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him.
Remain in Me, and I [will remain] in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself without remaining in the vine, neither can you [bear fruit, producing evidence of your faith] unless you remain in Me.
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]
What’s the purpose of life?
To glorify our Father in Heaven.
How is that even possible?
Through the faith of Jesus Christ.
Where do we get the power and unction to do that?
By the infilling and abiding presence of the Holy Spirit of Almighty God.
So practically, what can we do?
Well, first you need to repent of your foolish pride.
Recognize who and what you are.
Acknowledge who God is.
Then, confess your sins and humble yourself under the mighty hand of God.
We’re here to do God’s will.
We’re here to obey His commandments.
As a faith, Christianity is really simple.
Love God more than anything else.
Live your life that way.
And love your neighbors as if they were you.
Because they are.
We’re all one in the Son.
One more tip: practice being patient.
That means being joyful in your trials.
Have you ever grown a plant from seed?
Did you yell at the plant for not growing fast enough to your liking?
I mean you can do it, but it won’t do anything to help the plant grow.
So sit back and relax.
God’s got this.
He has a plan.
He has a purpose.
You’re not so important that you can’t be replaced.
God’s will will be done whether you cooperate with God or not.
The only question is: who’s team are you on?
Or rolling trainwreck Satan?
Are you for peace and order?
Or chaos and discord?
Submit therefore to God and fulfill your purpose in Him.
For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure.
Do everything without murmuring or questioning [the providence of God], so that you may prove yourselves to be blameless and guileless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish in the midst of a [morally] crooked and [spiritually] perverted generation, among whom you are seen as bright lights [beacons shining out clearly] in the world [of darkness], holding out and offering to everyone the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to rejoice greatly because I did not run [my race] in vain nor labor without result.
But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith [for preaching the message of salvation], still I rejoice and share my joy with you all.
