All God’s People

God rules the nations. He sits upon his holy throne.

The influential people from the nations gather together as the people of the God of Abraham.

The rulers of the earth belong to God. He rules everything.

Psalms 47:8‭-‬9 GW

Do any of you have wisdom and insight? Show this by living the right way with the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you are bitterly jealous and filled with self-centered ambition, don’t brag. Don’t say that you are wise when it isn’t true. That kind of wisdom doesn’t come from above. It belongs to this world. It is self-centered and demonic. Wherever there is jealousy and rivalry, there is disorder and every kind of evil.

However, the wisdom that comes from above is first of all pure. Then it is peaceful, gentle, obedient, filled with mercy and good deeds, impartial, and sincere. A harvest that has God’s approval comes from the peace planted by peacemakers.

James 3:13‭-‬18 GW

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Matthew 5:8‭-‬9 KJV

Of all the things I’ve learned in life, perhaps the most valuable lesson I’ve ever learned is that I’ve got a lot to learn.

But that’s good.

It keeps me humble.

It keeps me teachable.

It keeps me watching and listening.

Not to be entertained, but to learn.

Can you see and can you hear?

Those are perhaps the most useful God given abilities we have received.

Don’t waste them on worldliness.

We’re not here for our own amusement.

We’re here to serve God sacrificially with our lives.

If you can’t see, you’re blind.

If you can’t hear, you’re deaf.

If you’re looking and listening to corporate controlled media and entertainment, you’re effectively paralyzed.

You’re out of the game of life.

How do you learn?

By seeing and hearing.

Can you learn?

Then thank God for that.

What I see is suffering.

What I hear is complaining.

It seems we should do something about that.

We all have influence.

It’s up to us to steward our influence wisely.

Can fresh and bitter waters flow from the same stream?

I’ve resolved within myself to live my life to please God.

That means I can’t be a people pleaser.

Thank God for that.

People are very fickle and change like the wind.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

He’s a constant.

You can safely build your life upon Him and know that it will go well for you.

You might not be rich in material things, but your life will matter.

There’s nothing worse than wasting your life on worthless things, things that won’t last.

What can be seen passes away.

What can’t be seen is eternal.

Several years ago I realized what was missing.

Moral excellence.

You can teach people a code of conduct for that, but there’s an easier and more effective way.

You can introduce people to Jesus and teach them how to live in fellowship with Him.

The Holy Spirit will transform them more and more each day into the image and likeness of God.

So really, what am I saying?

You are responsible for your life, your words, your conduct.

You will have to answer to God.

Everyone of us does.

What do you want Him to say on that day when He calls your card?

Well done, my good and faithful servant?

Or get away from Me, I never knew you?

That should cut to the quick.

Whatever that means.

I hope your heart is tenderized.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.

And may you bear much fruit.

Fruit that lasts.

The fruit of the Spirit.

Lord, we humble ourselves before You.

Teach us, Lord, Your ways.

We want to please You with all of our days.

In the Name of Jesus we pray.

And all of God’s people said…

Amen.

Let the healing begin.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV
