Be Ready

Live decent lives among unbelievers. Then, although they ridicule you as if you were doing wrong while they are watching you do good things, they will praise God on the day he comes to help you.

1 Peter 2:12 GW

If we endure, we will rule with him. If we disown him, he will disown us.

2 Timothy 2:12 GW

Be ready to spread the word whether or not the time is right. Point out errors, warn people, and encourage them. Be very patient when you teach.

2 Timothy 4:2 GW

The Lord is watching us.

He is for us.

And He’s telling us to be ready.

Be ready to pray.

Be ready to share the Good News.

Be ready to disciple new believers.

Are you ready?

Is your church family ready?

Now is the time to get ready.

There’s no time like the present.

Are you like me?

Have the things of this world grown strangely dim?

Have the things that have drawn your attention away from God and His purpose for your life become tiresome, dull and lifeless?

If so, good.

That means God is at work in your heart and mind.

Lord, sanctify our hearts and minds.

Set them apart as holy unto You.

Father, forgive us when we know not what we do.

Guide us by Your gentle hand and Your Holy Spirit into all truth.

What’s coming is revival.

A lot of people have been praying for it for many years.

The first fruits are already here.

Be ready for a bountiful harvest.

God is placing a holy hunger and thirst for righteousness in His people.

And they will be satisfied.

God is preparing our hearts.

He is equipping us for the task at hand.

What is that task?

Loving the lost back into the Kingdom.

It takes patience.

You’re going to find yourself loving a lot of unlovable and unthankful people.

That’s okay.

That will expose the motives in your heart.

Are you looking for control?

Or are you looking to set people free?

God’s going to use you right where you are.

You’re uniquely qualified to bring the Gospel message to everyone you meet.

Maybe you think somebody else should be doing it.

That’s the trouble with people today.

They want to skirt their responsibilities.

Well, no more.

It’s time to drop those bad habits that steal your time and murder your joy and destroy your desire to please God.

It’s time to return to following God.

You’ve done it before.

You can do it again.

And this time.

This time will be different.

Put your hand to the plow.

And don’t look back.

If you want to be a leader, quit following people.

Follow God.

He’s big enough to lead each one of us individually.

When God leads us, the Body unites.

Trust and obey.

There is no other way.

God, lead us.

God, take control.

Your Kingdom come, Your will be done.

On Earth as it is in Heaven.

Amen and amen.

No fear exists where his love is. Rather, perfect love gets rid of fear, because fear involves punishment. The person who lives in fear doesn’t have perfect love.
