Habits Determine Destiny

Keep your mind on things above, not on worldly things.

Colossians 3:2 GW

Cling to discipline. Do not relax your grip on it. Keep it because it is your life.

Proverbs 4:13 GW

Carefully walk a straight path, and all your ways will be secure.

Proverbs 4:26 GW

I used to have a lot of bad habits.

And by bad, I mean unhealthy.

I did things that were detrimental to my health and well-being.

I was a habitual sinner.

I practiced sin.

My days were consumed in darkness.

But then the light of God came shining in.

In the midst of deep darkness, it’s easy to recognize the light.

I moved towards the light.

I kept pursuing the light.

And soon the darkness was gone.

Now, I live in the light as He is in the light.

It makes discerning the spirits automatic.

Does this resonate with love, joy, peace, grace, humility, mercy, kindness and truth?

Or is it a lower frequency?

I find that light cuts through darkness like a laser cuts through metal.

This world we live in is like a cold, dark dungeon filled with hate, fear and pride.

The people who live in darkness don’t understand.

They think that’s normal.

But they do see light when it shines.

They just don’t have the light in them.

You can’t set everyone on fire for Jesus.

Only the hungry ones.

Only the thirsty ones.

Only those that desire something different and are willing to open themselves up to it.

Our habits determine our destiny.

What you do today matters.

If you don’t think so, you’re lying to yourself.

One foot goes before the other.

You can’t walk without taking that first step.

God is calling us to live by faith in the power of the Holy Spirit.

He’s taking us to the promised land.

He promises us blessings and eternal life.

But we’ll never get there if we don’t start.

We’ll never get there if we give up.

We’ll never get there if we’re satisfied with the way things are.

Once you taste and see that God is good, nothing else will satisfy you but God, abiding in His presence.

His presence is not here or there.

It is inside of you.

Sin separates us from His presence.

And sin no more.

Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.

Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Ephesians 4:29‭-‬30 NASB
