In The Father’s Hands

“This is eternal life: to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you sent. On earth I have given you glory by finishing the work you gave me to do. Now, Father, give me glory in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world existed.

“I made your name known to the people you gave me. They are from this world. They belonged to you, and you gave them to me. They did what you told them. Now they know that everything you gave me comes from you, because I gave them the message that you gave me. They have accepted this message, and they know for sure that I came from you. They have believed that you sent me.”

John 17:3‭-‬8 GW

“They don’t belong to the world any more than I belong to the world.”

John 17:16 GW

“I pray that all of these people continue to have unity in the way that you, Father, are in me and I am in you. I pray that they may be united with us so that the world will believe that you have sent me.”

John 17:21 GW

Do you belong to The Father?

If you do, He gave you to Himself through Jesus Christ.

You are now the Lord’s possession.

To be completely filled with Christ is to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Christ means the anointed one.

Anointed with the blessing and essence of power from God the Father.

I’m not a theologian.

I’m just a practitioner of faith.

I’m just trying to be the best disciple that I can be.

As I endeavor upon that task, I bump up against falsehoods that have long been held sacred by our society.

But faith assures me that I’m not alone.

So I continue on this road.

This long and narrow path of faith in the Father, and His Son, and the Spirit of the Holy One.

Don’t look at the world.

It’s a distraction doomed to destruction.

Look with eyes of faith upon the Father.

He has filled us with faith.

He has given us His grace.

His blood on the Cross set us free.

Sometimes I get bogged down in the minutia of this life.

The devil is in the details.

But everything is in God’s hands.

Trust and obey.

That’s the only way.

Where God is taking us, few have been brave enough to even try.

Failure is not failure.

Failure is an opportunity to learn.

If we don’t learn from our mistakes, or the mistakes of others, how will we learn?

How will we grow?

The only failure is a failure to try.

How do you know if you can walk on water if you never get out of the boat?

How can you save those that are drowning in sin, if you don’t reach out?

You might find yourself diving in to save a soul.

You’re not in control.

God knows those who He chose before the foundations of this world.

He needs those who know Him to make Him known to those who don’t.

That’s their only hope.

Who will answer the call?

Before everything falls apart.

The end is assured.

What are you doing in the meantime?

Give up your life.

And find His.

Glory is only found in following God.

Everything else is a waste of time.

Lord,

Deliver us from distraction.

Deliver us from temptations to sin.

Deliver us from trusting in anything but You.

You alone are worthy.

You alone are holy.

You alone are God.

God, make Yourself known among the nations.

And prove Yourself strong in us.

We believe.

God, glorify Your Holy Name.

To God be the glory.

Amen.

“I have made your name known to them, and I will make it known so that the love you have for me will be in them and I will be in them.”

John 17:26 GW
