The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
Pray in the Spirit in every situation. Use every kind of prayer and request there is. For the same reason be alert. Use every kind of effort and make every kind of request for all of God’s people.
Also pray that God will give me the right words to say. Then I will speak boldly when I reveal the mystery of the Good News.
Because I have already been doing this as Christ’s representative, I am in prison. So pray that I speak about this Good News as boldly as I have to.
Pray in the Spirit always.
Those who worship God must worship Him in spirit and in truth.
God is Spirit.
God is Truth.
He inhabits the praises of His people.
Prayer cleanses the carnal mind and reestablishes the connection with the divine nature of God.
There is nothing righteous in us, that is, in our carnal nature.
Nothing we can do can please or appease God.
Only God is an acceptable sacrifice to God.
He places the desire in us and gives us the strength to do His will.
God is at work in us.
Can I open your eyes to see and your ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church?
Give Me back My Church and I will give you the nations.
Jesus is the light of the world.
He is the light that shines in us and through us.
We have no light of our own.
It’s only when we get out of the way, when we surrender to the leading of the Spirit, and when we obey that unction, do we shine like the dawn and glorify our Father in Heaven.
Abide in Christ.
That’s the root from which all good fruit grows.
When we relinquish control, and learn to submit to God, the truth comes out.
It’s perfect and it’s powerful.
No scheme of man can stand.
You know how the butterfly gracefully flits from here to there without a care right?
That’s the person who abides in the Spirit.
Their prayers inform their every movement.
It’s a dance of grace.
But before that happens, we lead the earthbound life of a caterpillar.
Does a caterpillar ever dream of flying?
Does it even know its potential?
Is it familiar with God’s design for the stages of its life?
Or does it just munch leaves contently, fulfilling its base desires?
We are caterpillars.
The birds of the air feast on us.
But for the chosen, at the appointed time, God clips our wings and confines us in a prison of our own making.
Trapped in our sin, there is no escape but the miraculous.
We are doomed to destruction unless we metamorphose and burst the shell.
And we can’t do it for ourselves.
It’s only by God’s Spirit.
May he grant you your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans!
May we shout for joy over your salvation, and in the name of our God set up our banners!
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions!
Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with the saving might of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright.
O Lord, save the king! May he answer us when we call.
