Rights & Responsibilities

Assume your own responsibility.

Galatians 6:5 GW

But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

1 Timothy 1:5 NASB

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:14‭-‬16 NASB

I asked the Lord what He was saying to the Church in this hour.

“Be humble and serve.”

The key to success in the Kingdom of God is becoming a humble servant.

Many serve to be seen.

Many look down on those that they serve.

True love is compassion.

It expresses itself through empathy.

It says, “I will suffer with you.”

Jesus learned obedience through suffering.

He obeyed the Father’s command, even to die on a cross.

So many make much of the promises of God.

We have our rights as children of God.

But all of those promises come with conditions.

Jesus did the heavy lifting of saving us.

We have the responsibility to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

We do what we believe.

Or we’re hypocrites.

What does someone believe?

Their actions will tell you.

Do not suppose that God is not watching.

That He doesn’t care what you do.

He wants to be intimately involved in your life.

Jesus made disciples.

He walked with them.

He talked with them.

He dined with them.

He showed them the way.

He explained what He was doing.

He taught them to do what He did.

And then He said to go and do the same.

That’s the pattern of discipleship.

One life being infused into another.

We can’t expect change unless we do something different.

We know our rights.

Eternal life.

The freedom to approach the Father without condemnation.

Do we know our responsibilities?

Spread the Gospel.

Make disciples.

Obey the commandments.

Have we been sitting down on the job?

We need our shoes.

So that we’re ready to spread the Gospel that brings peace.

Jesus is Our Peace.

He has made us right with God.

Now, it’s time.

To go.

And sin no more.

May the Lord of Heaven and Earth awaken your heart and mind to your calling in Him.

And may you not turn back when suffering comes for the sake of the Gospel.

May you endure until the end.

And be saved.

In Jesus’ Name I pray.
