The Father’s Heart

The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him.

Proverbs 23:24 ESV

After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him, and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.”

Matthew 3:16‭-‬17 NASB

“What do you think? If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and search for the one that is straying? If it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish.”

Matthew 18:12‭-‬14 NASB

It is God’s desire that we be wise and righteous.

It is also God’s desire that all be saved, that all come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Too often, we focus on what’s in it for me.

If you listen to modern praise and worship music, the lyrics focus extensively on how we are loved by God.

Somehow, we have to move past our innate selfishness and share that message with the lost.

It almost seems like the music is more evangelistic than the people singing it.

It used to be we worshipped God and sang to God about how much we loved Him.

Perhaps we need to rethink what we’re doing.

Are we worshipping God or ourselves?

Awhile back, God spoke to me that we need to re-evangelize the local church.

Apparently, many churchgoers don’t actually know God nor believe and apply the Gospel to their daily life.

The fruit of their lives plainly shows it.

It’s sad really.

They’ve accepted some counterfeit gospel that has nothing to do with living by faith.

Join our club and do what we do and you’ll be accepted.

It’s like those people that say you need to keep going to meetings as if somehow attending a meeting will save you from yourself.

The only thing that will save you is knowing Jesus.

God knows what we need.

He knows before we even ask.

He knows before we’re even aware of our need.

We need to start trusting God and accept what He provides for us.

Both daily and eternally.

God exists outside of time, and so should we.

I believe it is God’s will that we become perfectly conformed to the image and likeness of God.

We are meant to be like Jesus.

We are to be God’s love in this world.

We are His hands and feet.

We go.

And we touch.

We carry the Holy Spirit inside of us.

The Kingdom of God is within you.

And I could go off on everything that is wrong in the church and in the world, but what good would that do?

We need to be like God to affect change.

We need to be self-sacrificing.

We need to pick up our crosses daily.

We need to lay down our lives.

And pick up His.

The Father sent His only begotten Son to be the payment for our sins.

We couldn’t make right what was wrong.

But God made it right.

And He is continually making it right.

The blood of Jesus is the redemption of sinful humanity.

Those who believe become the children of God.

He takes care of us.

He watches over us and provides for us.

Those without faith don’t believe.

The righteous shall live by faith.

God is able.

God is strong.

God is greater than any circumstance we face.

Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world.

This world is under the devil’s power.

But we are not of this world.

Remember that.

And help others remember.

By showing them.

Demonstrate the Gospel with power.

In Jesus’ Name I pray.

But now, O Lord, You are our Father, We are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand.

Isaiah 64:8 NASB
