The Redeemed

Look, I’m standing at the door and knocking. If anyone listens to my voice and opens the door, I’ll come in and we’ll eat together.

I will allow everyone who wins the victory to sit with me on my throne, as I have won the victory and have sat down with my Father on his throne.

Revelation 3:20‭-‬21 GW

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

John 14:3 ESV

And He raised us up together with Him [when we believed], and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, [because we are] in Christ Jesus, [and He did this] so that in the ages to come He might [clearly] show the immeasurable and unsurpassed riches of His grace in [His] kindness toward us in Christ Jesus [by providing for our redemption].

For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith.

And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God; not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation].

For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].

Ephesians 2:6‭-‬10 AMP

I’m not a Bible scholar.

I’m not a theologian.

I’m not a college graduate.

I’m just some dude that loves Jesus.

And I’m doing my best to get out of the way of self and into the Way of Jesus.

God’s ways are not our ways, but that doesn’t mean we can’t walk in His ways through the power of the Spirit.

As I endeavor to be the best disciple that I can be, I’m having to unlearn a lot of religion and embrace a whole lot of dying to self.

Grow a little.

Get pruned a lot.

Grow a lot.

Get pruned a little.

You ever drink a beverage that came in a bottle or can that had a deposit on it?

You pay a deposit and you can get that back when you redeem the container.

Now, are you going to redeem the container while it’s still full?

Of course not, that’s just silly.

You empty it, and then you redeem it.

You can’t be filled with the Spirit while you’re full of yourself.

The Holy Spirit is the down payment on our souls.

It’s the guarantee that we’ll be fully redeemed.

It’s the deposit of God.

God wants His money back, so to speak.

He put His Spirit in us when we first believed.

And God’s not going to redeem us until we’re empty.

It’s weird but we’re supposed to die so that we can live.

This life is not about us.

We’re supposed to be poured out as an offering and a sacrifice.

Jesus doesn’t save you so that you can keep doing your own thing and wind up in Heaven when you die.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but those who love God practice righteousness.

And the righteous shall live by faith.

Being a disciple means following Jesus.

It means you listen to His voice.

He only speaks what the Father is saying.

And the Holy Spirit only speaks what He hears.

All three agree.

The Father’s will be done.

Our job is to obey.

People wonder how God can have three aspects.

How can we be created in the image and likeness of God?

How can Jesus be God and human at once?

It’s kind of mind blowing, right?

Well, think of it this way: you have a spirit, soul, and body.

Your soul is your mind, will and emotions.

The soul of God is the Father.

Invisible, but real.

It directs the body.

Jesus Christ is the incarnate body of God.

He just says and does what the Father wills.

Makes sense right?

And the Spirit is the Spirit.

God is Spirit.

What Jesus did for us is open the door to the Father for us.

He allows our bodies to be containers of God.

He redeemed us with His blood.

He freely chose to purchase our freedom by dying on a cross.

That’s how much God loves us.

That’s the Good News.

We’re free in Christ.

While we’re saved, we’re being saved.

We’re working out our salvation.

It’s not a one and done.

It’s a process.

Sanctification.

And that process is in overdrive right now.

Do things seem different to you than they were a year ago, and yet nothing’s changed?

That means you’ve changed.

I’m doing a deep work, says the Lord.

I’m cleaning you up for My purposes.

Because of My righteousness, you have been made clean.

Don’t sully yourself again with worldly living.

Because of what I have done, you will be redeemed.

Rest in that knowledge.

The Lord is faithful.

I cannot lie.

I cannot break My promises.

There is no untruth in Me.

The work of the Father is My business.

And I will complete it and it is finished.

Behold, all things are new.

Believe and receive the free gift of God.

Redeemed for His righteousness.

Blessed be the Name of the Lord.

Glory to God, our Father in Heaven.

Blessed be the Lord most high.

Amen.

O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

Psalms 74:10 KJV
