The Strategy of Heaven

To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God, who created all things, so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.

Ephesians 3:8‭-‬12 ESV

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:19 ESV

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church, of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known, the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints.

Colossians 1:24‭-‬26 ESV

In our increasingly chaotic and complex world, some things stay the same and don’t change.

For example, the root cause of all of our problems.

Sin.

Our lack of obedience to do the will of God is the cause of all of our suffering.

Why is there evil in the world?

Because humanity is under the influence of sin.

It’s been this way since we were expelled from the Garden of Eden for disobedience.

Now, there’s also been another thing that hasn’t changed since that time.

God’s design to deal with sin.

His strategy for lack of a better term.

Jesus and followers of Jesus.

That’s it.

That’s the whole strategy of Heaven to redeem humanity from our sinful ways.

I’m not a pastor, but if I was, that’s what I would focus all my messages on.

Perhaps that’s why I’m an evangelist.

I only repeat the same message all the time.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God who takes away the sins of the world.

Not only that, He delivers us from the power of sin and shame.

He gives us His Holy Spirit to live in us and through us so that we can overcome the world, just like He did.

That’s good news, huh?

I find that the Gospel answers everything.

Money also answers everything, but money can’t save your soul.

So you gotta choose which one you’re gonna serve.

God or money.

Who is your master?

Who calls the shots?

For me, money is an afterthought.

What God wants, what God says, that’s of primary importance.

He will test you in this to see how pure your faith is.

Many go astray in the pursuit of the blessings instead of the One who blesses.

Back to the Gospel for a moment.

Jesus dealt with humanity’s sin once and for all on the Cross.

Case closed.

End of story.

Accept that fact and act accordingly.

Jesus conquered hell and the grave.

He did it.

And He freely shares that victory with us.

He gives us the power to rise above our sinful, flesh nature and live the life of Christ.

People forget that.

They need to be reminded daily.

Quit pretending you’re defeated.

Have you forgotten what Jesus did for us?

Heaven’s strategy to redeem this world is really simple.

Go and make disciples.

Wherever you go.

Wherever you find yourself.

Disciple nations to follow Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit.

That’s the answer to all the world’s problems.

Do you feel overwhelmed by all the evil in the world?

Do you feel discouraged as all the signs of the end of the world begin to manifest before our very eyes?

Don’t feel down, rejoice!

That means our King is coming back soon.

Don’t let Him find you asleep on the job.

Your job is to make disciples.

That’s the job of every disciple.

Sometimes it’s your kids you’re discipling.

Sometimes it’s someone else’s kids you’re discipling.

The common thread is you’re discipling God’s children.

And we’re all God’s children.

Some people don’t know that yet.

That’s why you need to tell everyone the Good News.

That’s also part of the job description of making disciples.

Followers of Jesus do two things: share the Gospel, and make disciples of those who choose to believe the message they hear.

Now, God gives us different gifts, abilities and talents, but those aren’t part of the job description.

They just help us do our job.

We’re all just servants of God who serve the Body of Christ and the lost.

I don’t think I can explain it any simpler than that.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for letting me share.

God bless you in your journey to becoming just like Jesus, in regards to love.

Amen.

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Galatians 2:20 ESV
