Us For Him

“Blessed [joyful, nourished by God’s goodness] are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness [those who actively seek right standing with God], for they will be [completely] satisfied.”

Matthew 5:6 AMP

Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

Ephesians 6:11 NASB

But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.

Amos 5:24 NRSV

Right motive precedes right action.

Without the right motive, all action is wrong.

Without faith, it is impossible to please God.

What do you think that means?

It means that we first need to believe in God.

And to believe in what He’s done.

We have to have faith in God.

The Lord enjoys being affirmed just like everybody else.

And honestly, He’s the only One worthy of praise.

If you have a Christian worldview, based in Biblical theology, you’ll understand that we humans are sinful in our base nature.

We’re selfish.

We’re self-centered.

We’re self-absorbed.

We’re greedy.

And a whole lot of other terrible qualities of character.

It’s only through spiritual rebirth and regeneration by the Spirit of God that we begin to manifest the character and attributes of Jesus.

We get no credit for being good.

The only credit we earn is for being faithful, for being obedient.

That’s it.

At least that’s my understanding of the Christian life.

Christianity has gotten a bad rap since its inception.

The establishment didn’t recognize our Savior.

He didn’t fit their preconceived ideas of what Messiah should be.

They had fashioned God in their image instead of letting God make them in His.

To win we must let go.

Let go of our ideas, our agendas, our false doctrine, our dead practices.

It’s time to encounter the living God.

It’s time to walk with Him.

It’s time to talk with Him.

It’s time to sit at His feet and learn from Him.

We have been a people fractured and divided.

The enemy is the author of division.

He sowed sin into our hearts in the garden.

And we’ve been dead spiritually ever since.

Unless you abide in the vine, you cannot bear fruit.

And the vine is rooted and grounded in love.

It’s not us versus them.

There is no them.

We were all created by God.

Jesus died for us when we were yet sinners.

We are ministers of reconciliation.

The Gospel changes everything.

Not only does believing it bring spiritual rebirth, abiding in it and carrying that message continually transforms us.

The Gospel disarms the devil.

Hell and the grave are defeated.

Our God is triumphant.

And He freely shares the spoils of His single-handed victory with us.

Jesus is truly our Savior.

Rest in that.

Walk in that.

Talk about that.

Live that message.

Be carriers of His grace and love.

We are not to be conformed to this world.

We resist the world.

We resist the devil.

And we let Jesus shine through us.

We are the people of God.

One holy nation called out for Him.

Brothers and sisters, let us be who He created us to be, for His glory, amen.

And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.”

Revelation 5:9‭-‬10 NASB
